This is the largest of four, low impact designs that we created for a "Pocket Community" nestled within the lush rainforest of Western North Carolina.  

These mountain modern retreats, in The Divide at Bald Rock, are focused on capturing "micro movements" of the forest.  Imbuing daily life with the beauty and magic of nature from every room. Creating expansive, illuminated spaces that flow into the outdoors, blurring the line between within and without.

Clean, modern lines with mountain charm. Warmed with wooden accents.  Solidified with stacked stone.  Unassuming from the front while boasting expanded outdoor living spaces in the back. This two bedroom, two and half bath, 1,704 S.F. home feels larger than its' footprint would suggest.

Filled with natural light and mindfully framed nature-scapes, capturing the "micro movements" of the forest.  This home has embraced its' surroundings. The captivating sounds of the stream, that flows near by, can be enjoyed under the shade of an old growth tree left soaring through levels.
